What an awesome year!  Thank you all for your outstanding support we are so honoured to have you on our team.  We are really excited for 2015, we feel this will be “our year”.  We have a couple of larger projects in the pipe line but we will continue to keep your maintenance needs a priority as we believe maintenance is the heart of our business.  We are very proud to have added another brand to our profile.  We are now a “Houle” agent for all your effluent needs.  GEA as a company has been through many changes with the purchase of Milfos but have recently stood strong behind us.  With this reassurance and with those larger projects on the horizon we will be recruiting a new staff member in the New Year.  To support this move you may start to notice new signage and advertising around so please feel free to share the love and tell a neighbour or friend about us.

I will be running a competition in the New Year so keep an eye out to be in to win!

One of Ziggy’s recent projects has been installing the latest in Draft-ing Systems into Brian Prangley of Tirau’s shed. The Milfos style gates with Westfalia Surge ID componentry (Dairyplan) makes for a very reliable unit. The unit bolts to the concrete so can there for be added to an existing yard. It can also operate as a stand alone manual unit with the ability to add the componentry at a later date. Complete with Numatic rams, full roof for shade as well as the steel and wood for the drafting unit all included as a handy kit.

There have been regulation changes by Fonterra around “chemical residue” in all milking plants.  As Ziggy has been servicing your plants he has been changing wash settings to suit these regulation changes. Thanks to the Haigh’s for being the trial shed and putting up with Ziggy and Ian Sweeny from GEA  traipsing in and out all through your winter milking’s.

Ziggy has also installed a stand alone AquaChill package for Bill Geering in Okoroire.  It was decided that this unit would provide Bill with the best solution for his milk chilling needs. The AquaChill package can be tailored to bring the milk temperature down to your individual requirements with four different models depending on your needs. The AquaChill package is a stand alone unit, that piggy backs into your milk delivery line between your existing plate cooler and your vat. Because the unit is only running while milking it is a very cost effective option when looking at milk cooling that meets Fonterra’s proposed milk cooling requirements.

Houle Agi-Pump and Slope Screen

We have also been busy installing for Bruce McLennan of Putaruru a new Horizontal Houle Agi-Pump and Slope Screen separator in his effluent system. This was done in conjunction with Murray our effluent tech from GEA FT. The Houle Slope Screen is a very simple and efficient separator which is very low maintenance. It can be adapted to most existing effluent systems to separate out your solids and reduce your water usage. There is an Agi-Pumps to suit individual systems, the horizontal Agi pump that Ziggy and Murry installed being just one of them.

It’s that time of year again where we all go a little crazy! We remember the last round of New Years resolutions that we’ve neglected to pursue and all those things we woulda coulda shoulda done.   We race around trying to find that perfect gift but sometimes forget that a thank you and one’s presence can be the best gift of all.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Haigh family!  Colin, Helen, Matt and Merren.  You have been so incredibly kind and supportive of us.  We couldn’t have pursued this venture without your generosity.  We are forever grateful.  Margaret and Bryan Burch (Ma & Pa) Thanks for being believers, doing all the “hard stuff” and teaching us along the way.  We promise to keep trying our hardest.  To all of you reading this, thank you we are spoilt to have such great people to work with and we would not be here without each and every one of you.

deaconWell here it is the first of many newsletters to come.  It’s been a while in the making as somewhere in the middle we had a baby!!  On the 9th of March (Chrissy’s Birthday) we welcomed our little man, “Deacon Seth Burch” into the world weighing 3.95kg / 8lb 11oz.  He has been a steep learning curve for Chrissy  but a walk in the park for Ziggy as he is a brother to Evan who is now 5.  So now we write this newsletter in the wee hours of the morning much similar to when you start milking.

We would like to thank you all for your support and kind words after the tragic loss of our long time best friend and employee Fredrick McLaren in late January.  We hope he has found peace in his world and knows he is sorely missed.

It has been a hectic past 6 months for us with the baby, Chrissy taking on a lot of the office work and Ziggy working long hours to keep up with all your maintenance and servicing needs.  There have also been  many changes under the GEA umbrella so thank you all for your patience.

Looking forward we plan to hire a fully qualified Technician by January 2014. We are constantly increasing our stock on hand and are working on an easy order system for all your consumable needs.

Our business is a small family business that we hope to grow and pass onto our sons.  We endeavor to broaden the services that we offer and ultimately become a “one stop shop” for all your cowshed build and maintenance needs.
